Texas AgriLife Extension Kaufman County Master Gardeners held a workshop on Saturday October 3, 2009 at the Kemp City Park. Supported by The Kemp EDC and Jody Deller EDC President, the Master Gardeners installed an EarthKind™ Rose and Rainwater Harvesting demonstration garden. It features EarthKind™ Knock Out Roses in a raised bed and a 300 gallon low profile rainwater harvesting tank to capture water from the roof of the adjacent building. The captured rainwater supplies water for a drip irrigation system to water the roses. The garden and rainwater system is open to the public during normal park hours. For more information contact the Kaufman County Master Gardeners at 972 932 9069.
