Kaufman County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources Tommy Phillips recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association. The award recognizes excellence as a professional extension member with more than 10 years of service. Phillips works with local farmers and cattle raisers and oversees county projects, including the Master Gardeners through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Phillips came to Kaufman County from Van Zandt County early last year, following the retirement of former agent Ralph Davis in 2021.
