On April 2, 2014, the Garden Learning Center was showing its colors. Blooms were plentiful in most gardens, and buds could be seen everywhere. Cacti and other succulents are probably not the first plants you think of when you hear flowers or blooms, but there are many beautiful examples in the Garden Learning center now, with more to come. The succulents are particularly lush this year.

In the Texas Garden, the daffodils and jonquils of late March gave way to a variety of other blooms in early April, but the Julia Child roses continued to put on a beautiful show. The Bulb, Butterfly, Easy-to-Grow and Rain Gardens were also in bloom, with early-blooming bulbs being followed by a variety of other flowering plants and shrubs.
