On January 11, 2011, Kaufman County Master Gardener Lynn Ackerman presented a program on “Landscaping with Succulents” to the Mabank Garden Club. Finding cold-hardy varieties of succulents for Kaufman County was emphasized. The presentation included recommendations for establishing small areas with good drainage in our landscapes for unique varieties of cactus and other succulents. The more unique varieties, can be found in web searches. Placement of larger Agave, Yuccas and Cacti in the landscape was also discussed.
