Master Gardeners Kick Off the Heartland Fireworks Celebration

On July 2, 2022, Master Gardeners – Don Mzyk, Rita Ware, Robert Castro and Billie Henderson provided fun activities for the kids before the Heartland Fireworks event.  Little kids and grown-up kids who like to play in the dirt visited our booth.  Little ones decorated their own cups and learned how to plant beans in the cup to take home.  Older kids learned how NOT to be afraid of Cacti.  They enjoyed observing the on-site demonstration about handling cacti. Then under supervision, they selected a cactus plant to pot and take home.
