Master Gardeners Provide Fall Vegetable Gardening Information

Over 60 people attended the Kaufman County Master Gardeners Fall Vegetable Workshop on July 20th at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church in Kaufman.
Ellis County Master Gardeners Susan Clark and Arlene Hamilton discussed Mediterranean herbs and brought samples for the audience to see and smell.
Renee Word, Kaufman County Master Gardener, talked about how to can vegetables. John Lawler, owner-operator of Worm Wranglers, talked about making and using “castings tea.” Jim Burt and Frank Clark, Kaufman County Master Gardeners and Vegetable Specialists, provided information sheets on a variety of fall vegetables, as well as information on planting dates and vegetable varieties best for the Kaufman County area. Attendees also participated in a silent auction and a tool and plant sale.
