March 10, 2018, Kaufman County Master Gardeners hosted their Spring Seminar at the First Methodist Church in Forney. The featured speaker was Steven Chamblee of Chandor Gardens in Weatherford.

Mr. Chamblee, horticulturist for Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, talked about which plants grow in the shade in wet, average and dry conditions and provided a list of plants with both common and scientific names. In his second presentation, Mr. Chamblee discussed 50 plants that are “Texas tough,” based on his experience at Chandor Gardens; he also provided a list of top-performing plants in several categories, including annuals, perennials, grasses, shrubs, trees and more.
