Spring Seminar and Vegetable Program Attracts Over 100 Participants

Kaufman County Master Gardener Association held its Spring Vegetable Garden Seminar February 26, 2011, at Kaufman High School cafetorium with approximately 119 people attending, including vendors and master gardeners. The seminar featured Bonnie Bradshaw, Urban Wildlife Encounters, speaking on Critters in the Garden; Joseph Masabni, PhD, Vegetable Extension Specialist/College Station, Texas, speaking on Best Garden Preparation and Best Vegetable Varieties; and Phyllis Vaseleniuck, Echo Springs Blueberry Farm, speaking on Growing Blueberries in Texas.

Information booths included Kaufman Farmer’s Market, North East Texas Fine Arts Alliance, Urban Forestry, 4-H, Urban Wildlife, Square Foot Gardening, Rain Water Harvesting, Beekeeping. Kaufman and Kaufman County Environmental Co-op. Display boards featured advertisers that supported KCMGA 2011 Horticulture Calendar.
